Code of Conduct

We have developed an Ethical Code of Conduct that covers key issues of fair living wages, child labour, hours of work, justice, safety and diversity. We require all employers – our suppliers and manufacturers – to work within the Code. We expect a commitment of strong ethical practices, taking responsibility, encouraging respect, inclusivity and empowerment, and committing to a culture of progressive sustainability.

No Child Labour

No person shall be employed under the age of 15.

No exploitation of Child Labour at any point of the supply chain.

Workers shall only be employed in accordance with all applicable local laws and regulations.

Discrimination and Inhumane Treatment

We believe in the equality of opportunity in hiring, compensation and treatment regardless of race, caste, colour, gender, religion, political persuasion, union membership, nationality, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, or other distinguishing characteristics.

Employment is Freely Chosen

We are committed to ensuring all workers are employed on a voluntary basis, and are free to leave with acceptable notice.

Freedom of Association and the Right to Collective Bargaining

Employers must respect the right of employees to associate, organise and bargain collectively. Should the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining be restricted under law, the employer must allow the development of a means for independent and free association and bargaining.

Fair Living Wages

Wages and benefits paid by Employers must meet the legal or industry minimum standards in the country of manufacture and should be sufficient to meet basic needs and provide some discretionary income.

Hours of Work

These shall comply with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards.

Overtime and leave entitlements are to be followed as per local laws.

Disciplinary Practices

Corporal punishment and any other form of physical or physiological coercion or intimidation shall not be used against workers for any reason.

Health & Safety

A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided, and best occupational health and safety practice shall be promoted. Access to clean drinking water, adequate sanitary washing and toilet facilities shall be available and adequate lighting, ventilation, fire extinguishers and fire exits shall be provided. These standards should be maintained for factories, canteens, dormitories and rest and recreation areas provided for workers.

Environmental Standards

Compliance with all applicable Environmental laws and regulations.

All suppliers must work to minimise any negative impact on the environment. All relevant national and international environmental legislation must be adhered to in all manufacturing processes.

Contractors and Suppliers

Employers shall ensure that their contractors and suppliers adhere to our Code of Conduct.

Monitoring of Compliance - Audits / Factory Visits

Employers shall implement and maintain programmes to set in motion this Code.

Employers shall communicate this Code to all employees and those in any way involved with the supply chain.

Employers acknowledge they may be audited by Trelise Cooper Group and/or external auditor for scheduled and unscheduled inspections and audits for the purpose of ensuring this Code of Conduct is being upheld. Auditors must be given unrestricted access.
